Initially started as a means to manage our own properties under an LLC, OverWatch Real Estate Management quickly gained traction with other real estate professionals in the Anchorage area. New to real estate, we started by investing in Mountain View due to the high profit margins and potential for forced appreciation (fixing up the properties). However, we learned very quickly that while something may look good on paper, that doesn’t mean it works in the real world. But that didn’t stop us from restoring the 80s chic fourplex we had purchased, placing excellent tenants, and profiting from our initial mistake.

After the first purchase came another, and then another, until the real estate agent that we were using to make the purchases really took notice on how we were taking dilapidated properties, fixing them up, placing in excellent tenants, and turning a profit from a less than ideal situation. The agent who we were using for the purchases then hired us on take over management of their properties, roughly fifty units. As you can imagine this was quite a jump from the twelve we had ourselves as we were suddenly managing sixty units all around Anchorage all the while Chris, the founder, was working a full time job at the University of Alaska Anchorage.

We were able to work with the real estate agent who hired us to help and automate her property management business, and eventually ended up leaving her employment to go off on our own. We still work with that agent for tenant placement services, but have moved on to run our own business now.

Now, in 2021 Chris finally quit his University job to focus on expanding the company and offering a new and innovative way to handle property management.
